It's a sign of the times

Looks like we'll be taking 100% filmless, as in digital, pictures in the near future as Kodak Slashes Up to 15,000 Jobs as It Exits Film Market . Just don't fall for the print it at home logic that the printer manufacturers are pawning off on you. Go somewhere like Wal-Mart, Walgreens, or CVS that offers digital prints. "Why drive when I can print at home?" you may ask? Simple, the digital prints at the drug store use the most advanced printing process that a little desktop printer can't match. These prints will outlast any desktop inkjet print and are cheaper than any prints from a dye-sub or color laser printer you could bring home.

Sick family + sick computer = bad "vacation"

So, no entries...why? Devine Ms. N got ill, Mom got ill, I got ill, then the computer decides to call it quits! We got assorted variations on a cold (ear infection, nose cold, cough, fever). Dunno what the 'puter got but, it was BAD. Nothing would work! Not Norton, not fdisk, nuttin' Bootted from a WIN98 SE disk, then hosed the whole mess off.
So, I reformat ...blah,blah,blah and the WIN98 disk Dell gave me 4 yrs ago doesn't even have a f@#%ing serial number on it soooo.. I spend the better part of an hour in voicemail/holding hell finally get a hold of some guy (with a heavy overseas accent). Get the serial number and the install goes buggy! "Missing files so and so .vxd". I said "what the hell" used my WIN 2K upgrade disk and now it works.

Just a few more programs to re-load. Damn 'puters too much like money...can't live with it can't live without it! Thank G-d for MLK B-day! One day off (not sick) in 11! Glad to be an employee of the State. Delighted everyone (and the 'puter) are healthy again.

Experiment with ColdFusion webservices

A basic ColdFusion implementation of WebservicesX.NET US Weather service.
I'm sort of new to CFML but, with some help from Nate Weiss
I got the weather webservice working using this bit o' code to "expose the service".

Happy B-day Elvis, me & the Divine Ms. N

So, my and Ms. N's birthday celebration won't be as big as the King's it's still a big deal for us. After all, Ms. N is 1 today.
