Fred Thompson is running!

I got an e-mail two days ago that I was actually excited to receive. Looks like Fred Thompson will be running for President. The e-mail led with this:

On September 6, 2007, Fred Thompson will be announcing his intention to run for President of the United States with a webcast available to millions at www.imwithfred.com. The launch of the video will be followed by a five-day campaign tour through Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. On the evening of the 6th, there will also be a National House Party, during which there will be a conference call with Fred.

I (and my Wife) look forward to Fred's brand of GOP politics joining the national dialog. My personal opinion: He seems like the kind of leadership we need right now and for the future.

What's With Fred (Thompson)?

I thought Fred Thompson was going to announce (or not) his intent to run. But, alas nothing on his blog since June 28th. So can you give us an answer yet? Are you in the race or not? I know we have a long way to go till election day but, you've got to take the training wheels off sooner or later!
